Subsequent exchanges between the two of you are free after the first contact, and if you're contacted by anyone, it's free to reply.
Priority Message. If someone extra special catches your eyes, for 1 extra credit, you can have your message to him or her highlighted and sent to the top of the mail list in their mailbox.

The Communities idea is a great one - it means that you don't get pestered by people with an entirely different dating agenda to your own (what a nightmare that can be!)

The credits system is an innovation - with some other dating sites, you have to shell out your bucks to read the messages sent to you - only to discover you wouldn't consider replying in a million years! With DreamMates, you can read your messages for free, and if you want to reply, it may be that you can do so for free if the other person has already paid a credit to speak with you. This is one we liked a lot.

Lows

In an effort to make ensure quality, DreamMates has editors read all profiles. Now this is great in some ways; it stops profanity etc getting through, but it means that you've got to have your profile all thought out, when at first, you often just want punch in a few "fillers" to get online and see how the thing works. The good news is that you have a few days grace before the editors catch up with you, so if you're signing up, go and check out the action immediately! if you like what you find, get on and write up a proper profile.
